SA: Three month old boy in hospital with meningococcal

ADELAIDE, Aug 9 AAP - A three-month-old boy from Adelaide's northern suburbs has been
admitted to hospital with meningococcal infection, the 14th case in the state this year.

The Human Services Department said he was in a stable condition and six people who had been
in contact with him had been traced in order to provide them with antibiotics, if needed.

A three-year-old boy from remote South Australia died from the disease last week.

Last year 28 cases of infection were identified, six of whom died.
